Hi all,
Hope you had a nice weekend!!
Today I raced the Luxembourgish national championship in MTB Marathon. It was a great day for me as I could take the victory, my first ever Luxembourgish Marathon Champion title. As you know 90 % of my races are Marathons, so this victory really means a lot to me.
For the last few weeks I have been really focused to get in the best possible shape for this race. The race consisted in 75 KM and almost 2000 m of climbing on mostly single trails. Straight from the beginning I was setting the pace and could control the speed more or less like I wanted.
Unfortunately in the middle of the race, my back wheel caused some problems with 2 broken spokes.
In this way the final turned out a bit more exciting than I had hoped for. With 3 minutes of advantage to the second I had a comfortable lead and the victory was never in real danger.
So now we have to plan a nice layout for the new XCM national champion jersey for next season;-)
I will finish my season while leaving to Australia doing the UCI stage race “Crocodile Trophy” from October 13th to the 20th. After a long and successful season, with 3 off-road national titles (CX, XCO, XCM) all in all, I hope to finish my season on a high level in Australia.
I will keep you updated from Australia and please follow my racing on social media.

There will for sure be a lot more to read tomorrow in the Luxembourgish news, but then I am already sitting on my plane to Australia 🙂
Have a nice day and thanks for being a part of my “Team”!!
Best regards,
